About
I have enjoyed every resident evil game in existence...even the "horrible" survivors and gaiden have entertained me to some positive effect. So I was inspired by a charaset I found for RM2k, to make the classic first Resident Evil for 16-bit PC lovers, to keep me entertained during the holidays and to hopefully entertain the people who download and play it when it is finished!
I don't want to upset the old fans of the game and I have tried to keep it as close to the playstation version as possible (no Gamecube in my possesion yet I'm afraid) though some things are very hard to do...such as a custom battle system that works with ammo for multiple weapons, and the whole fileing thing...some of those long essays have had to be ommitted.
The battle system is now an action battle system featuring all of Jills weapons from the game. You use different weapons on the enemies but all weapons must be 'fired' adjacently to the enemies, this is because implimenting a ranged battle system would just be too difficult to get to work with all the different types of ammo and all obsticles in the way and just...well it wouldn't work properly.
There's also an accurately reconstructed menu system only it has infinate amounts of space, as there is no storage box system. Simply because it's again hard to impliment and frankly I don't think the tradeoff in effort and variables is worth it for something which mostly prooves to be an annoyance!
The only other differences people might pick on is the jigging around of some bits in rooms, like the fireplace being on the wrong wall in the dining room. This doesnt really affect gameplay though, it just makes it easier.
I plan for this to be a fun thing...not a science project.

"The Master of Unlocking..."
And yes...I have kept the awful dialogue only now it is in text format so you can go over and over it in your head and read along to the words and put on the accents to it. Fun fun fun!
